What is a wedding centerpiece?

It’s the item that takes central stage in the wedding table setting, used as a display to help out with the decor theme. Think of it as the focal point of the table decor, influencing the rest of the items in a set or the rest of the decoration at the reception with the style and colour palette. It can also be the very piece that ties the whole look together.

What can I use for wedding centerpieces?

The wedding centerpiece can be many things, from floral and greenery arrangements and vases to candles like the classic and elegant taper, tea, pillar, sand type with the suitable candle holders. The choice depends on your theme, your taste, the venue, the result you’re after and the budget you’re willing to spend on this.

What is the etiquette for centerpieces?

To make the most of this meaningful addition to the decor, it’s important to ensure you use it properly by keeping the following aspects in mind: Choose a smaller wedding table decor piece if you plan on using it around food. If using floral arrangements, this protects the food from falling petals and leaves. Avoid choosing flowers and candles that are scented if used around food. The centerpiece should be 2/3 of the length of the table.Leave out room around the table for glassware, dishes and other decor elements.Don’t pick out a design that’s too tall so it interferes with both visibility and conversation across the table.Stick to consistency and symmetry (works great on square tables placed in a row), or mix and match for a versatile look.
